Audio delay in Bluetooth earphones

Because Bluetooth technology transmits audio data wirelessly, it takes a little more time to travel compared to wired headphones. Therefore, a very slight delay is a normal physical phenomenon. However, if you feel that the sound and video are clearly out of sync, it is usually due to environmental interference, the connection sequence, or network buffering. Please try the following steps to improve your experience.

I. Adjust Settings and Connection Habits

1. Enable Game Mode or Low Latency mode

If you experience lag while playing games, check your phone's Game Assistant or Bluetooth settings to see if "Game Mode" or "Low Latency" is turned on. Enabling this feature prioritizes audio transmission speed and significantly reduces sync issues.

Note: realme earphones will turn on the Game Mode by default when going into games.

2. Change the connection sequence

We recommend following the "connect first, open later" rule: connect your Bluetooth headphones to your phone before opening a game or video app. If the app is already open, try closing it completely from your background tasks and then reopening it to refresh the audio channel.

3. Re-pair and update the system

Bluetooth cache issues can sometimes cause transmission errors. In your Bluetooth settings, tap on your connected headphones and select "Unpair" or "Forget this device," then pair them again. Additionally, keep your phone system updated to the latest version for the best Bluetooth compatibility.

II. Improve Environment and Network

1. Avoid interference

Bluetooth signals can be affected by 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, microwaves, security cameras, or crowded areas like subway stations. Try moving away from these interference sources, or try turning off your phone's Wi-Fi temporarily to see if the delay improves.

2. Check for network buffering

If you are watching videos or listening to music online, any lag might be caused by a slow internet connection rather than the headphones. Try switching to a more stable network, or test with a downloaded (offline) file to see if the delay persists.

If these methods do not solve the problem, please bring your headphones and proof of purchase to a realme Customer Service Center for a professional inspection.
