Internet disconnection during calls is usually caused by disabled VoLTE features or Dual SIM limitations, rather than a hardware defect. By making simple adjustments, you can usually browse the internet while talking. Please follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue.
I. Enable Call Enhancement Features
1. Enable VoLTE HD calls
This is the most common cause. Standard voice calls force the network to drop to 2G or 3G, which stops internet access. Please contact your carrier to ensure VoLTE services are active on your SIM card. This allows voice and data to transmit simultaneously over 4G or 5G networks.
Note: All realme models support VoLTE.
2. Turn off Data Saving mode
If you have enabled Data Saving mode, the system may restrict apps from accessing the internet during calls to save data. Go to Settings > Mobile Network > Data Usage, find Data Saving, and turn it off to ensure apps can access data normally while you are on the phone.
II. Check Dual SIM Status and Network Environment
1. Check Dual SIM limitations
Most phones use a "Dual SIM Dual Standby Single Pass" design. If you set SIM 1 as your data card but answer a call on SIM 2, the mobile data will automatically disconnect. This is a normal physical limitation. We recommend using your default data card for calls or checking if your phone supports the "Use Internet during calls on secondary data SIM" feature to maintain connectivity.
2. Check account balance and signal quality
Please check if your mobile plan has a sufficient balance, as unpaid bills will pause data services. Additionally, in weak signal areas like elevators or basements, the network prioritizes voice calls over data, which may cause the internet to drop. We recommend checking your balance and moving to an open area with better signal reception.
