Sound leaking from your Bluetooth headphones is usually caused by how they fit, the volume level, or the size of the ear tips. This is a normal acoustic phenomenon and usually not a product defect. Don't worry—you can often fix this by adjusting the fit and settings. Please try the steps below:

I. Adjust Fit and Accessories

1. Change to the right size ear tips

If you are using in-ear headphones, ear tips that are too small won't seal your ear canal properly, causing sound to leak. We recommend switching to larger silicone ear tips (such as size L). Larger tips fill the gap better, physically blocking sound leakage and improving bass performance.

2. Check orientation and angle

Check the marks on the earbuds: "L" is for the left ear and "R" is for the right. When wearing them, gently rotate the earbuds to adjust the angle so they fit snugly against your ear. Wearing them incorrectly or on the wrong sides prevents a tight seal, which leads to sound leakage.

II. Check Volume and Audio

1. Adjust the volume level

High volume is a main cause of sound leakage and can be harmful to your hearing over time. In quiet environments, please lower the media volume. We recommend keeping it at a medium, comfortable level, which will significantly reduce sound leaking out.

2. Check the audio source and reset

Some audio files are recorded at very high levels, which can make leakage seem worse. Try playing different types of music or videos to test. If the issue persists, try placing the earbuds back in the charging case to reset them, then reconnect to your phone to clear any connection glitches.

If the steps above do not solve the problem and the leakage is severe, please bring your headphones and proof of purchase to a realme Customer Service Center. Our professional engineers will be happy to inspect your device and assist you.

Note: For realme Buds Air 3 and later Air series models, you can use the "Earbud fit test" in the app to check if you are wearing them correctly.
Path: Open realme Link APP > Tap on your earphones > Scroll down to Earbud fit test.
