How to format a hard drive on a laptop?

Tips: Formatting the hard drive will clear the data in the drive letter, please back it up in advance.

Operation steps:

Method 1:

1. Press Win+E at the same time, turn on This PC, and check the hard disk that needs to be formatted.

2. Right-click the drive letter to be formatted, and select Format from the pop-up menu.

3. In the pop-up formatting parameter setting dialog box, set it according to your personal needs. It is recommended that the file system of the hard disk should be selected as NTFS format, the default hard disk allocation unit size of the system should be adopted, and the format option should be selected as quick format. After setting, click Start to format. 

Method 2:

1. Search for this computer in the search box, right-click this computer, and select Manage > Disk Management.

2. Right-click the drive letter to be formatted, and select Format from the pop-up menu.

3. In the pop-up formatting parameter setting dialog box, set according to personal needs. It is recommended that the file system of the hard disk should be selected as NTFS format, the default hard disk allocation unit size of the system is adopted, and the format option is selected to perform quick format. After setting, click OK to format.
