In standby mode, your smartphone uses a small amount of power to stay connected to the network, receive notifications, and keep the system running. However, if you notice your battery draining unusually fast while not in use, it is often due to too many apps running in the background, unstable signal, or settings that need adjustment. Please don’t worry—trying the following steps usually resolves this issue and helps get your realme phone’s battery life back to normal.

I. Optimize System and App Settings

1. Regularly Close Background Apps

The more apps running in the background, the faster the battery drains. Before putting your phone down, we suggest swiping up from the bottom of the screen and pausing to open the Recent Tasks view, then tap "Clear All" to free up memory and stop unnecessary power drain.

2. Enable Smart Standby Optimization

Your system has built-in power-saving features that can significantly reduce battery usage at night or when the phone is idle for a long time.

realme UI 6.0 and above versions: We recommend turning on "Sleep standby optimisation."

Path: Settings > Battery > Power saving settings > Sleep standby optimization

realme UI 5.0 and below versions: We recommend turning on "Ultra Standby Mode."

Path: Settings > Battery > More settings / Advanced settings > Optimized standby > Ultra standby mode

3. Manage App Auto-launch and Notifications

Some apps may frequently wake up your phone in the background. We suggest going to your App Management settings and turning off "Auto-launch" permissions for apps youdon't use often. Also, try turning off notifications for non-essential apps to stop them from waking up the screen and system.

II. Adjust Network and Connection Settings

1. Turn Off Unused Wireless Connections

GPS, Bluetooth, and high-precision Wi-Fi scanning consume power when active. We suggest turning these off from the Control Center when you aren't using them. When sleeping at night, you can try turning on Airplane Mode, which will significantly extend standby time.

2. Check Auto-Update and Sync Settings

Apps downloading updates or syncing data to the cloud in the background uses network resources and battery. We suggest going to the App Market settings and turning o"Auto-update apps over Wi-Fi." You can also temporarily turn off "Auto backup" in Cloud Services and switch to manual backups instead.

III. Check Environment and Battery Health

1. Signal Quality: When the signal is weak, your phone works harder to search for a network, which causes heating and battery drain. Try to keep your phone in areas with a stable signal.

2. Temperature: Extremely cold temperatures can also affect battery performance. We recommend using your phone in environments between 15°C and 30°C (59°F - 86°F).

3. Battery Health: If you have been using your phone for a long time, battery aging may cause reduced battery life. We recommend visiting an official Service Center to check

your battery health and replace it if necessary.

If the above methods do not solve your problem, please back up your data in advance and go to the realme Service Center with your purchase certificate for testing.
