Your phone is equipped with a high-precision power management system that intelligently regulates current and voltage during the charging process. realme phones feature multiple built-in safety protections to monitor voltage, current, and temperature, ensuring charging safety and battery health. You can use your device with peace of mind.

I. Identifying Normal Phenomena vs. Abnormal Faults

Normal Phenomena

  • Symptoms: Fast charging and mild heat at the start of charging; slower speeds as the battery level reaches 100% (trickle charging); very faint electrical sounds when the charger is close to your ear; or the battery icon stopping its charging animation while staying at 100% when plugged in for a long time.

  • How to handle: These are normal charging behaviors or physical characteristics. No action is required.

Abnormal Faults (Action Required)

  • Symptoms: No response when connected to a charger; charging is intermittent; the charger or phone becomes too hot to touch; the battery is bulging or leaking; or there is a burnt smell or sparks from the port.

  • Emergency handling: Immediately disconnect the power and stop using the charging equipment. If the battery is bulging, do not squeeze or pierce it. Visit a realme Service Center immediately.

II. General Solutions: Basic Troubleshooting and Long-term Maintenance

A. Basic Troubleshooting: Charging failure or slow charging?

1. Check connections and accessories

Unplug and re-plug the cable and charger to ensure a tight connection. Try a different wall outlet to rule out socket issues. Always use the original charger and cable, as non-original accessories may cause compatibility issues.

2. Clean the charging port

Check for dust, lint, or debris inside the charging port and on the cable connector. You can gently clean them with a dry, soft-bristled brush.

3. Force restart the device

Sometimes a system display error can make it appear as though the phone is not charging. Press and hold the Power button and Volume Up button simultaneously for about 10 seconds to force a restart, then try charging again.

B. Long-term Maintenance: Protecting your battery at the source

1. Optimize the charging environment

We recommend charging in temperatures between 15∘C and 35∘C. Avoid charging on soft surfaces like bedding or sofas that trap heat. Also, avoid humid or extremely hot environments like bathrooms or cars in the summer.

2. Keep the system updated

Go to Settings > About Device > Tap the version card at the top to update your system. Regular updates often include optimizations for charging strategies and temperature control.

3. Develop good charging habits

Avoid playing high-load games while charging, as excessive heat can reduce charging speeds. You do not need to wait for the battery to drain completely; charging in small increments is better for battery health.
