After your realme phone finishes a system update, it immediately begins a series of key background tasks, such as adapting apps, optimizing performance, and scanning for security.

These steps are designed to make your system run faster and safer. Because these processes use more processor power and memory, you may notice your phone getting warm. Please rest assured, this is a necessary step to ensure your phone runs smoother and safer in the future.

Usually, the heat will disappear naturally after a few days as the background optimization finishes. This is completely normal, so please feel free to use your phone as usual.

To help manage the heat during and after an update, please refer to the following suggestions:

I. Preparation Before Updating

1. Choose a Cool Environment

Please avoid updating on sofas, bedding, or in direct sunlight, as these places trap heat. We recommend placing your phone on a hard, cool surface like a desk. You can also temporarily remove the phone case to help heat escape.

2. Check Battery and Phone Status

Before updating, clear unnecessary background apps to lighten the load. Ensure you have plenty of battery life (we recommend 50% or more). If your phone is already hot after downloading the update package, we suggest waiting for it to cool down before you tap "Install."

II. Optimization and Usage After Updating

1. Allow Time for System Optimization

After the update is complete, the system needs time to adapt apps and organize files in the background. This temporarily increases power consumption and heat. We recommend leaving the phone idle with the screen off for a while (e.g., 1-2 hours). For the best results, leave it charging quietly overnight to let the system finish its optimization.

2. Restart and System Check

Normally, the system finishes adapting within 2 to 3 days. If your phone still feels unusually hot during light use after a few days, try restarting the device once. You can also use the built-in "Phone Manager" app to run a check or tap "Optimize" to find and fix potential issues.

Friendly Reminder:

Temporary heating after a system update is a necessary process for your device to adapt and become more efficient. Please give your realme phone a little time to complete these optimizations. If the overheating persists for a long time without improvement, please back up your important data and visit a realme Customer Service Center with your proof of purchase. We will provide professional inspection and support.
