Signal is normal, but it can't surf the Internet

If your phone shows signal bars but you cannot connect to the internet, this is usually related to your carrier account status, network settings, or temporary congestion, rather than a hardware issue on your phone.

Please follow the troubleshooting steps below. In most cases, these will quickly restore your network connection.

I. Check Carrier and Network Environment

1. Check your account balance

First, please ensure your phone bill is paid. Even if the signal bars look normal, carriers will cut off data services if your account is overdue. We recommend calling your carrier's customer service to check your balance and ensure your account is active.

2. Compare with nearby devices

If you cannot access the internet in a specific area (like a basement, elevator, or crowded place), check if friends nearby using the same carrier have the same issue. If everyone is unable to connect, it means the local signal tower has poor coverage or is congested. Please try moving to an open area.

II. Check Data Settings and Access Points

1. Confirm Mobile Data and Default SIM

Please pull down the status bar and ensure the "Mobile Data" icon is turned on. If you use dual SIM cards, go to Settings > Mobile Network (or SIM Card & Mobile Data), and ensure that the "Default Data" option is set to the SIM card that has a valid data plan.

2. Reset Access Point Names (APN)

Incorrect APN data is a common reason for having signal but no internet. Go to Settings > Mobile Network, select your SIM card, tap Access Point Names (APN), tap the menu icon in the top right corner, and select "Reset access points". This restores network parameters to default and often fixes the issue.

III. Refresh Signal and Reset Settings

1. Toggle Airplane Mode or Restart

The network connection may have a temporary glitch. We recommend pulling down the status bar, turning on "Airplane Mode," waiting about 5 seconds, and then turning it off to let the phone search for a signal again. If this doesn't work, try restarting your phone to force the system to re-register with the network.

2. Reset Network Settings

If the methods above do not work, the system network configuration might be corrupted. Go to Settings, search for and select "Reset Network Settings" (or "Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth"). This will clear Wi-Fi passwords, Bluetooth pairings, and mobile network settings, but it will not delete your photos or app data, so please don't worry.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, we recommend backing up your important data and taking your phone, along with your proof of purchase, to a realme Service Center. Our professional engineers will inspect and resolve the issue for you.
