WiFi 6, also known as 802.11ax, is the sixth generation of the WiFi wireless networking standard. It was designed to improve the speed, capacity, and efficiency of wireless networks, especially in environments with many connected devices.

Key features of WiFi 6 include:

1. Higher Data Rates: WiFi 6 offers maximum data rates of up to 9.6 Gbps, significantly 30% faster than WiFi 5’s maximum speed of 3.5 Gbps.

2. Increased Capacity: It supports more simultaneous connections, making it ideal for crowded areas like homes with multiple devices, offices, and public spaces.

3. Improved Efficiency: WiFi 6 utilizes technologies like Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA), which allows multiple devices to share channels, reducing latency and improving performance.

4. Better Range: With improved modulation techniques and beamforming capabilities, WiFi 6 provides enhanced coverage and better performance at longer distances.

5. Target Wake Time (TWT): This feature helps devices manage their power consumption, allowing them to schedule when they wake up to send or receive data, ultimately extending battery life.

WiFi 6 is backward compatible with previous WiFi standards, meaning that newer devices can connect to older routers, and vice versa.
